Now that I’ve gotten a few posts under my belt, I felt this would be a good time to share some facts about myself. Here are eight facts to help you know me better.
*My birthday is October 8th. — Shout out to all the autumn babies!
*I teach in Southern California. — I’ve never had to miss school for a snow day, and I’m totally OK with that.
*I’m fluent in Italian. — Both of my parents are immigrants from Italy. I was very lucky to grow up bilingual.
*I decided to become a teacher when I was six year old. — I’m not kidding! I knew I wanted to teach from first grade, and I never looked back.
*My undergraduate major was liberal studies. — That was the “teaching” major at my university. My concentration in my major was dance.
*Speaking of dance, I was a studio dance instructor before becoming a classroom teacher. — I’m trained mostly in ballet and various styles of jazz, but I’ve dabbled in tap, modern, hip-hop, and ballroom. I taught creative movement, pre-ballet, ballet, tap, and jazz to ages 2 1/2 to 10.
*I read Oh! The Places You Will Go by Dr. Seuss to my students at the end of every school year. — And, it ALWAYS makes me cry!
*I have a love/hate relationship with my classroom library. — I love having a variety of reading materials for my students, but I still haven’t found an organizational system that I’m satisfied with. HELP!
I hope you all enjoyed this fun little post. It would make it even more fun if you left a comment so we can get to know each other better.
